Simple for Simon

When the European Tour bandwagon reaches Holland, you can bet your bottom Euro that Simon Dyson is ahead of it waiting to fill his boots.

Simon simply loves the place and even though he didn't manage to become a four-time champion of the KLM Open, he did finish second to continue his remarkable record in the event.

Second place was enough to put Simon back into the world's top 100 and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he isn't in the top 50 before the end of the season.

The six-time Tour winner will be looking at the Dunhill Links particularly as another week of high expectation and dividend.

Joost Luiten put in a top-ten performance in his defence of the title so well done him for doing so well in a week of high scrutiny and pressure. He was accompanied in fifth place by long-time front runner Romain Wattel, who is ever nearer a big breakthrough.

As a Lancastrian it isn't the easiest thing for me to say, but congratulations to Yorkshire and particularly our client Joe Root for collecting their first championship in a long time.
